Review: Our Kids Love it! Great-Tasting Breakfast Drink That's Quick, Convenient, and Filling - Carnation Breakfast Essentials has become a regular part of my morning routine because it's an easy way to start the day when I'm short on time. The Rich Milk Chocolate flavor tastes great without being overly sweet, and when mixed with cold milk, it has a smooth, creamy texture that feels more like a chocolate milkshake than a nutritional drink. One of the things I appreciate most is how convenient it is. The individual packets make it easy to keep a few at home, at work, or even while traveling. It only takes a minute to prepare, making it a great option on busy mornings when I don't have time to cook a full breakfast. I also like its versatility. While it's excellent simply mixed with milk, it also blends well into smoothies with fruit, yogurt, peanut butter, or oats for an even more filling meal. It's equally useful as a quick breakfast, an afternoon snack, or a post-workout drink when I want something that's both satisfying and nutritious. The nutritional value is another reason I continue to buy it. It provides a good source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, helping me stay energized throughout the morning without feeling overly full. It's a simple way to add extra nutrition to my day without much effort. The powder mixes easily with very little clumping, especially when shaken in a bottle or blended. The consistency has been smooth every time, and the flavor remains consistently rich and enjoyable. Overall, Carnation Breakfast Essentials delivers exactly what it promises: a convenient, dependable, and great-tasting nutritional drink that's easy to prepare and fits into a busy lifestyle. Whether you're looking for a quick breakfast, an on-the-go snack, or an easy nutritional boost, this is an excellent option that I would definitely recommend. The canned drinks have preservatives and they have to process nutrients differently that also takes "good stuff" away... I have been drinking this wonderful breakfast drink for YEARS (with skim milk) and I am a lot healthier than half the people around me... I TRULY attribute this in large part to my Carnation Instant Breakfast... Enjoy and God bless... **Q: Do they come already sweetened or do you have to add sugar?** A: It's already sweetened. I add mine to my coffee and I don't have to do add sugar or cream **Q: The description lists other flavors. How do I get them? I don't see anything else listed for this product...?** A: I purchased vanilla, strawberry and chocolate at Walmart and Amazon. I purchased powder. They have 5 flavors of liquid drink flavors I haven’t purchased. **Q: Gluten free** A: The Liquid Drinks are Gluten Free. The Drink Powders are made on a product line where other products containing wheat are also made. There definitely could be cross contamination. Therefore, they must carry the "may contain wheat" label. I found this information on the Carnation web site. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our Kids Love it! It tastes like a rich chocolate mousse that’s packed full of 13 grams of Protein, 3 times the amount of Vitamin D in a cup of skim milk and 3 times the Calcium too ( that’s not including what you get from the Greek yogurt) which makes it a powerhouse for energy and/or weight loss and if I’m not careful with how often I partake of this “treat” it might even help with gaining weight making it a healthier choice for any Elderly individual having trouble keeping their weight up. Carnation also packed in 21 vitamins and minerals in every single envelope. My Son loves it in his milk for a healthy addition to breakfast or any time he wants something that packs some flavor without piling on the sugar. It also makes a wonderful malt or shake and can serve as a meal replacement if desired. Between the two of us we’ve gone through 10 boxes so far. If you’re on the fence about it, give it a try! I’m gonna try using it as a chocolate pie (with the plain Greek yogurt) and see how well it goes over with the extended family. We’ve only tried the Rich Milk Chocolate version so far. ## Frequently Bought Together - Carnation Breakfast Essentials Powder Drink Mix, Rich Milk Chocolate, 22 Count Box of 1.26 Ounce Packets - Quaker Instant Oatmeal, Maple & Brown Sugar, Individual Packets, 1.51 Ounce (Pack of 48) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/629700603-carnation-breakfast-essentials-powder-drink-mix-rich-milk-chocolate-22](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/629700603-carnation-breakfast-essentials-powder-drink-mix-rich-milk-chocolate-22) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
