The wood top needs to be level however to achieve the same results. **Q: do you need a mounting ring with this sink?** A: I don't have this exact sink but no, you should not need a mounting ring... those are for bowl shaped vessel sinks that don't have a flat bottom. **Q: How does the sink attach to the vanity top?** A: Just with the drain fixture. That is inserted and with seals is screwed tight. It won't move.
