## Description

The Whistler Workbench Caster 4-pack Set is the perfect solution for easily positioning your heavy workbench to any desired area in your shop. Simply push down on the foot pedals to elevate your workbench off the floor (3/4-Inch), move to preferred location, then lift up foot pedal to lower table firmly back onto the floor. Each caster can support 100 lbs. (400 lbs. combined capacity). Experience ease of movement with caster's 360 degree pivoting action. All mounting hardware included.

Review: Well built, and they seem well suited for the loads they're design, but guessing that 1000 lbs total is a good upper limit. - Overall seems great, but guessing that 1000 lbs is a good upper limit. A few things to help the next folks after having installed 2 sets - 1 with wood legs, the other metal. I made a template to locate the holes, and that saved a lot of time (the metal legs were ~ 3" square with separate sets of holes on the opposite sides - so there were like 24holes to be drilled). The nuts that hold on the wheels need a 1/2" wrench, and if you use your bare hand to grab the circular plate you can get sufficient counter-torque and don't need a 2nd wrench (which would need to be very thin). For the wood leg installation I had, the pilot hole for the screws was 13/64". The screws were a bit cheap so the Philips driver kept popping out. Unloaded, the latch you depress sits ~6" high and for 2 of the casters in all my installations I had an obstruction ~8" off the ground. I can get my foot in there, but much shorter probably wouldn't have worked. Not surprisingly, it takes a pretty good push to engage the wheels (which was important to me, as due to the proximity of my walls, I'd had hopes that I could stretch under the table and depress the far ones from the front side, but that's not practical). I'm thinking about greasing the surface where the black metal foot pedal bears against the bright metal wheel mount. It seems like a fair amount of the depression resistance is due to that friction. With my heavier bench, it just barely lifts the bench (I might be overloading it, not sure). Finally, one of my black parts came preassembled incorrectly, but with wrenches it was an easy fix (after having to take it back off the table leg). And finally/finally, I think these are well built, and (without knowing the true weight of one of my loaded benches) they seem well suited for the loads they're designed for.
Review: They work - They are fairly solid for side mounted casters. A lot of people said they have issues with the threads stripping but I have not had that issue. My woodworking bench is around 500 lbs. The caster engage like they should. Only issue with movement is during change of direction where the wheel will swivel around and slightly catch the bottom corner of the leg it's lifting. Also if you move too fast a caster may disengage. Assembly was easy. Had to take off the lift lever to attach bracket with 5 in lag screws. They do not feel flimsy or cheap at all. Have realistic expectations about this, if you just need something to help you move a work bench around a bit then these work. If you want the bench to live on the wheels or be moved around all day there are probably better options out there but you will be paying more for them.

**Q: will these work to lift a powermatic 66 table saw**
A: They can handle the weight if a proper base is installed.  Most large powermatic cabinet saws weigh between 600-700lbs and depending on how big your table extention is may complicate your design.  Keeping the casters mounted to the base metal probably wouldnt be the best choice seeing as its fairly narrow and the weight of the top may cause a tipping issue.  Most of the people I know with powermatics that want them moveable, modify a pallet as a base and use a hand jack to wheel it around. Much more stable than swivel casters and considering how precious powermatics are to their owners I couldnt bear the thought of one falling over.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shop tool mobility improvement

I ordered two sets for my shop. I adapted my old Sears table saw by building a wood frame to which the casters were attached. These replaced the original craftsman caster kit. I should have done this 20 years ago. So much easier to move the table saw to where I need it in the shop, and the flip-up-down design works well. The unit parts are strong. I opted to use 1/4 inch bolts to anchor through the wood bracing and giving a metal back bracing. No flex or shift. Previous review concern regards ball bearing spacing, for all the dust and dirt in my shop the past 40 plus years I have not had a problem with bearing type casters. These casters have been getting a work out with the spring projects crunch as well and look like a winner. I also installed these on my grinder/drill press table using wood cross brace, 1/4 inch bolts and metal backing plate attachment. This table with all the gear is over 300 pounds. These casters have made the unit mobile and enhanced the flexibility of the tools in the shop. Again the flip-up-down technology is easy to use,even with the weight factor. I am designing another tool table, and will incorporate these casters as well. Well built, good instructions, modifiable application and great performance. Upgrades on bolts and nuts noted from previous reviews.
