Is it the same size screws (different lengths) for both size of space plug?** A: Anything upto a M6 or 6mm .... work fine with 5mm screws too ... the central bore diameter is 6.5mm ... as regards length as they are extendable you would have to select the required length as appropriate .. hope that helps and anything else you want to know please feel very free :) **Q: I'm looking for a way to hang thick curtains to a v large window with approx. 80mm insulated plasterboard. What weight can these space plugs hold?** A: Hi and thanks for your question. I'm the inventor of Space-Plug and used to be a professional handyman. You have a difficult problem to solve. Space-Plug works to prevent compression. Its not designed to be Load Bearing. If you used space-plug to bridge the gap the curtains load would be taken by the screw itself. If you could have several on each bracket it might well work but fundamentally hanging something heavy off a 6mm screw thats actually 80mm out of the wall is a big ask. A lot would depend on the curtain pole bracket design. Really pleased I found these. *by H***Y on 14 August 2017* I'm not one for expletives but this product leaves me few ways to express my satisfaction! I'm an engineer but I have not fitted a kitchen before, and these looked like a good idea for spacing & fixing units off the wall. Having now tried them I cannot imagine and easier way to precisely fix the units as soon as they are positioned. I have also found other applications for them such as spacing unit to unit in corners. These things are effing amazing, requiring JUST ONE SCREW per fixing. (angle brackets need at least two and probably four). If you haven't tried them before, go on - you wont regret it ;-) To make the job even easier, fixing to stud walls an brick and block walls, I put a 35 x 18mm wooden batten around the wall, to set the level of the underside of the worktop and thus the top of the base units, & fixed the batten to the wall using an appropriate screw & plug fixing. This let me screw the units to the battens using Space Plugs, doing the final fix for each unit as soon as I had it in the right position.
