I have an older machine and without using this I would not have a treadmill. Tried many claimed silicone lubricants in the past and only CRC meets my standards. **Q: can I put in in a Rubik's cube?** A: A Rubik's brand cube? Go ahead. It might change the black plastic a little white. Food grade CRC silicone might not change the plastic color (I think). **Q: Does it have any petroleum and/or oil in it?** A: It contains two hydrocarbons acetone and heptane. These are not oils. What I like about it is that it can be used around food meeting the FDA regulation for lubricants with incidental food contact.
