The repair takes around 20 minutes to complete and is guaranteed for the lifetime of the unit. We offer this guarantee, as after the repair, the pressure equalised unit will react differently to the environment. On hot days the unit will no longer expand, open and breathe out dry air under pressure. Neither will the unit breathe in damp air when cooling and closing. It is the damp air the unit breathes in that later causes the unit to condensate. The repaired unit will have the same thermal value as when it was new, except for if it was argon filled, then the thermal value will be slightly lower. 1. If your unit has failed for a long time chemicals from the desiccants mix with the condensation and the sun bakes the chemicals into the glass causing a cloudy effect. This is etching and looks like river inlets inside the unit and CANNOT be removed. 2. This repair can be carried out 12 months of the year. A repair carried out in damp weather conditions will arrest the unit from getting more saturated and the glass from becoming damaged by etching. The unit can take up to 12 weeks to completely dry out. Only install the plugs on a dry summer day with low humidity, when the sky is clear blue with no clouds. By making a purchase you agree to a 12 week drying out period. 3. This kit repairs a standard UPVC window with a standard gap of between 18-24mm. If your double glazed sealed units are not in standard UPVC frames with a standard gap, then please contact us before purchasing. 4. Toughened glass CANNOT be drilled. So I thought why not give this a try... here are my additional tips... drill the holes and let the window dry out.. you’ll need a few sunny days. Then add 20 or so of the calcium chloride pellets and seal the holes up immediately with the bungs... again on a sunny dry day (no humidity)... also check that water is not trapped in the frame, under the bottom of the pane... I drilled a few small holes and let it drain out... my window has started to fog up again after 4 months but I have removed the bungs and will repeat the procedure... hopefully will get another few months...... I think if you simply drill the two holes and don’t bung them up then it would probably work just as well... bottom line is just order two glass drill bits instead of the kit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The process works. Two tips - the drill bit does work but take it steady drilling the holes.
