The fan's 2 "blades" are soft plastic and move NO air. I repeat, there is NO air that comes out of these fans, much less makes you feel any cooler. the LED message is very cool however. the fact that you can program it specific to the event, made me exclaim "that's really cute" when i turned on the 1st one. i've never seen anything like it and the message alone made me not return a single one. Review: Good for what it is . . . - Didn't have any problem with these fans; they do what they're supposed to -- display messages in the whirling blades, that you can program yourself. They are kind of cheaply built -- but they were built the same when they were selling for $20 five years ago. For $3/apiece, they're a great deal. Each message can be up to 18 characters, and each fan can store up to 4 different messages. Only one caution; the illustration shows several colors, but be sure you explicitly -say- what colors you want when you order. I order a bunch, expecting an assortment, but all the fans that arrives were the same color. The seller made good, and sent me some fans in other colors, once I contacted him. These are great. Sturdy product. Programming messages takes some time but not too difficult overall. We were able to program six little messages which play and rotate as the fan runs.
