These do NOT have this chip and will NOT work properly on any Pixel handset. The description led me to buy 2 of these and I'm sorry I did. Both of them do NOT work with the Pixel 2 XL at all. I think the electrical connector bands inside the receiving plug are in the wrong order, as fully seating the headphones results in a muted audio. You have to pull the plug out about 3mm in order to hear audio at the correct/expected level.
