Also, are they safe for children?** A: Dear Reba,Thank you very much for your question and for your interest in Mouth Watchers. I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you.The ADA (American Dental Association) recommends to replace your toothbrush (or brush head if you use an electric one) every 3 months. Pay attention to how your bristles look: If they seem tired before 3 months, it most likely means you are brushing too hard. Release the pressure you are applying on your teeth and gums that could cause enamel damage and gum recession. Yes, it depends on the brusher and not the toothbrush. If you have a heavy hand, the bristles might wear out sooner. Remember that the key determinant is not the calendar but the shape the bristles are in. You need to replace your toothbrush when the bristles spew in different directions, AND you need to be GENTLE.While a toothbrush like the Mouth Watchers Antimicrobial Toothbrush feature antimicrobial bristle protection* to help keep brush bristles clean between brushing after only 6 hours, these bristles do not kill bacteria in the mouth, protect you against disease or prevent you from getting sick. So we still recommend being diligent and changing your brush regularly for optimum hygiene. So remember, after a cold, flu, a mouth infection, a sore throat or any other oral discomfort, just get in the habit to change your toothbrush. Our toothbrushes are absolutely safe for children, more over, we have a youth size brush in two colors: Yellow and Pink.Thank you very much again for your interested and best regards,Violetta,Mouth WatchersCustomer Support Team **Q: What is the silver action or silver brush? Does it really contain some silver? Does it have any antibiotics to kill bacteria?** A: There are no antibiotics. The nano silver (I believe it's called) does inhibit bacterial growth. **Q: Can these brushes be used on cosmetic veneers?** A: Dear Linda,Thank you for your interest in the Mouth Watchers toothbrush. Indeed, our line of brushes is soft and gentle enough that it would not damage the porcelain covering over your discolored teeth. The veneers are very thin (1-2 u in thickness), therefore a brush like ours is beneficial for cleansing the gum or gingival margin, since our brush bristles are the finest on the market (1 u at the tip = like a human hair!): therefore are the best cleansing bristle on the dental market to clean the delicate gingival margins of cosmetic veneers. We hope that helps!Thank you for the question. My best, Ronald T Plotka DDS **Q: how often do you recommend changing out the toothbrush if used 2-3x daily?** A: Hi there, Thank you for your question ! You can keep the brush longer than any other brush (4-5 months) vs changing your brush every 3 months. The bristles are made out of polyester (stronger material and more expensive than nylon), meaning it comes back in shape better and don't bend as fast.
