Review: Fun Surprise Collectible for Retro Fans - The Mini Brands Retro Single Capsule is a quick, exciting unboxing experience. Inside, you get a mystery selection from over 60 possible retro-themed miniatures, each featuring real licensed brands. The attention to detail is impressive—tiny logos, accurate colors, and miniature packaging that looks just like the real products. Opening the capsule is part of the fun. The peel-and-reveal layers build anticipation, and the small size makes it perfect for stocking stuffers, party favors, or adding to a growing Mini Brands collection. Collectors will enjoy the thrill of chasing rare items, while kids love the surprise factor and imaginative play opportunities. Build quality is solid—the minis feel sturdy despite their size, and the printing is clear without smudges. They also make great display items for dollhouses or desks. Pros: • Over 60 miniatures to collect, including rares • Realistic licensed product designs • Fun unboxing experience • Sturdy and well-printed miniatures Cons: • Only one capsule per pack—may need multiples to get favorites • The surprise element means duplicates are possible Bottom line: A charming, well-made collectible that delivers both nostalgia and fun. Great for Mini Brands fans, casual collectors, and anyone who loves miniature versions of real-world products.
Review: Mini Brands Retro Series: I like these, they aren’t for everyone - These are a good value when they are on sale. I have a few different Zuru Mini Brand lines that I prefer and the Retro Series is one of them because I enjoy the size, quality of the branded minis in this series, and it’s fun to see what you will get! I purchased the single this time and as shown in the photos, I received 2 “rare” and 3 “common” minis. I didn’t have any of these yet so that alone was a “win” for me. I am an adult and while I enjoy the process of opening the Zuru/5surprise line of Mini Brand toys, I use them in multi-media art pieces. These toys do not belong in homes with any small children or pets as they are a choking hazard. The Retro Series does not require any assembly like others (such as some of the items in the Home Series), but the items are very tiny and if swallowed, even if a child or pet did not choke, I can definitely see how some of the item could cause a costly blockage elsewhere in the body. Just a heads up! Keep these away from pets and small children.
