Review: Perfect for Gaming/Discord. - Just a disclaimer that I am by no means a microphone or audio connoisseur. This mic is actually my very first external one used primarily for gaming/discord chats. Really really simple set up procedure, just one cable that's all, the software you get is basic enough but you can still do a lot with it. Great features in thge software with good background noise cancellation, pop filtering and a high pass filter if you require. This along with all the audio features in discord then the mic acts brilliantly. I am that annoying guy that usually has background music coming through his mic in the chat while we are all trying to play a game haha but I was pleasantly surprised with this as the noise cancellation and the correct adjustments to gain, my chat could not hear any background noise whatsoever, whether that was my music, football on the tv or the rattling of my mechanical keyboard so that was a big big plus! The design is fairly basic but clean enough and slick, the green isn't my favourite colour but if that's one of my main comlaints I guess the mic itself does a great job. The sound quality is fantastic and I really do love the mute button located on the body/casing of the mic, its a flat non-press button so a simple tap is enough, I just wish the light indicator was a little better because it's almost impossible to tell if you're on mute or not at a simple glance, unless maybe if you're in the dark. Overall, I am delighted with the purchase and I can not reccomend this mic anymore, especially for the price. Brilliant value.
Review: Very easy to use and sounds great for the price. - Bought this after looking for a standalone mic for recording my voice. Overall, I’m really happy with it! It’s quite literally plug and play. Although be mindful that the box comes with a usb c to usb c connection. I had a spare cable that let me plug into my old USB slot but worth remembering in case you don’t have one. Once plugged in you should download the Shure app in order to have a proper look at the microphone and enable/tweak settings. The little stand it comes with is also great, although I wish it had the ability to adjust height. I will say though that it feels sturdy and is made of metal which in my eyes is a plus. Due to the nature of this kind of microphone (dynamic), you don’t need to worry too much about sound isolation or noises nearby, but you do need to speak closely into the microphone in order to get the best sound from it. After recording few samples, I was really surprised with the quality of it. It’s not perfect, but is completely on par with a lot of the voice recordings you’ll hear on YouTube videos. You get a full sounding voice and sounds far more professional than recording from your laptop or phone. I’ve tried this on Mac and Windows without issue too. I would recommend this for most people, especially if they don’t want to have a massive microphone stand setup or a mixer to deal with.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I use the MV6 with an iPhone/iPad or Android device, and what adapters are required?**
A: Yes. The MV6 works with USB-C iPhone, iPad, and Android devices using the included USB-C cable. You can customise settings, save presets, and manage audio processing with the Shure MOTIV Audio and Video apps, available on both iOS and Android.

**Q: Do I have to download MOTIV apps to use the MV6?**
A: If you want full control of your MV6, we recommend downloading the MOTIV apps. However, the microphone will still work without MOTIV apps, and has audio processing such as Auto Level Mode, Real-time Denoiser & Digital Popper Stopper already enabled.

**Q: Do I need a boom arm, shock mount, or pop filter to use the MV6?**
A: Not at all. The MV6 includes a colour-matched desktop stand, so it's ready to use straight out of the box. Its built-in Digital Popper Stopper helps reduce plosive sounds like ""P"" and ""B"", eliminating the need for a separate pop filter.

**Q: Can I use more than one MV6 microphone on my PC?**
A: Yes. You can use multiple MV6 microphones for podcasts, co-streams, interviews, and other multi-person content, provided your computer has enough USB ports available. The MOTIV Mix Desktop App can mix and control up to five audio channels.

**Q: Do I need an audio interface or mixer to connect MV6 to my computer, or is USB plug-and-play enough?**
A: No. Simply connect the MV6 to your PC or Mac with the included USB-C cable and you're ready to go. The MV6 has a built-in USB interface and audio processing, so there's no need for an external mixer, audio interface, or drivers.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shure MV6 - an amazing, great quaslity, USB plug-and-play microphone
*by P***H on 16 April 2025*

I spent weeks looking for a great-quality, mid-range microphone to use with my Mac computer—one that worked out of the box and allowed me to use it for video and voice calls while enabling those I speak to to hear me much clearer. The Shure MV6 is amazing—it has a great, well-weighted desk stand, it's a plug-and-play device, and it has an application you can download to boost the EQ. However, as a total novice, I simply wanted a great-sounding microphone, and this is it. The Shure microphone is great quality - it's got a simple mute touch button on the top, and whilst I know it can be used for so many applications including podcasts, I just wanted it for it's most basic use - and I am delighted.
