API 5-in-1 TEST STRIPS for freshwater and saltwater aquarium help fish owners measure levels of Nitrite, Nitrate, Carbonate & General Hardness, and pH found in aquarium water. In order for fish to thrive, water must be similar to that which could be found in their natural environment. Poor water quality can cause fish stress, illness and even death. Just dip a strip directly into your aquarium and use the color-coded chart to determine if your water is safe, or if adjustments are needed. Then follow the recommendations to treat the water – it’s that simple. With API aquarium products, it’s easy to keep a beautiful saltwater, freshwater or reef aquarium. Please contact API for additional help. **Q: Why the #%$ wouldn't they include ammonia in this?** A: Great question. API cannot include ammonia tests on 5-1 strips because of the chemicals on the pad. If we did, this would ruin all the other tests on the strips. Ammonia test strips are always separate from the rest of the tests. **Q: Is there an Expiration date on the box? Question to seller** A: Mine is 4/20/2021 **Q: How long do these typically last until they expire? I'm trying to decide whether to buy a 25 or 100 pack. Thanks :)** A: U can make them last longer if u cut down the middle of the strip and make 2 small ones...that's a nifty trick...turns one into 2 without damaging them ## Frequently Bought Together - API 5-IN-1 TEST STRIPS Freshwater and Saltwater Aquarium Test Strips 100-Count Box - Aquarium Pharmaceuticals® Ammonia Aquarium Test Strips - API FRESHWATER MASTER TEST KIT 800-Test Freshwater Aquarium Water Master Test Kit, White, Single, Multi-colored --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/65476168-api-5-in-1-test-strips-freshwater-and-saltwater-aquarium](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/65476168-api-5-in-1-test-strips-freshwater-and-saltwater-aquarium) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
