The front one is very bright (LED) and the diffused side panel gives a gentle more even light for reading etc.Like all energizer products it's very well made and designed and I highly recommend it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ About as bright as my iphone SE torch *by T***N on 19 October 2017* It's small, lightweight and pretty bright. The area light/directional light are about the same brightness however area light is more diffused and broader spread. I compared it to the light from my iphone SE and it seemed to be roughly similar brightness as the area light, however the directional beam goes a bit further I think. Handy torch to have pretty pleased. It's light so hopefully wouldn't break if I dropped it, and haven't tested the waterproofness. But at £6 it doesn't matter too much if either of those things happen to it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good design *by L***Z on 26 June 2020* We like to keep a torch by the bed at night. This is a good design as it is flat, so won't roll. and has two light sources, one bright to shine ahead, and one on the flat side which is diffused.
