**Q: I have always been a Tagamet user,,Is this a better way to go for Gerd and acid reducer?**
A: I was using ranitidine, but have since stopped and started using famotidine. So far I have been fine with the switch. I'm not sure if it's better for GERD. I would talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.

I purchased Amazon Basic Care Famotidine 20 mg after my veterinarian recommended famotidine for my Cane Corso’s stomach and acid issues. With my vet’s approval on dosage, this product has worked just as well as name-brand Pepcid at a much more affordable price. The tablets are easy to split, which is helpful for large breeds that may need adjusted dosing, and my dog tolerated it very well with no noticeable side effects. Within a short time, I noticed less nausea and discomfort, and overall my dog seemed much more comfortable. I appreciate that this is a reliable, cost-effective option, but I strongly recommend consulting your vet before giving this or any human medication to a dog.
