**Q: what would you suggest to sharpen rotary blades used in quilting**
A: Depends upon your usage and your pocket book.  If you are a professional and time is valuable, get a Tormek.  They have a jig set-up to sharpen small round cutters.  Specifically made for lathe tool replaceable blade cutters.  If you are looking to sharpen the occasional cutter and like the hands-on aspect, then a good (repeat) good, set of stones.  Better ones come with a device to help you with the proper angle.  This, such as the WM-200 from Tormek, can also be added later.  Keep in mind that a circular blade is difficult to sharpen consistently around the cutting edge but, again, it depends on your own relative degree of Obsessive Compulsive Behavior.
