I think it"s clearer that way. **Q: How much bigger is the print.** A: The unit claims that the magnification can be adjusted in five steps, x4, x8, x16. x24 and x 32. However a 5mm character viewed at x 32 appears on the screen as 45mm, a magnification of only x9. But at x4 magnification the image is 25mm, a magnification of x5. These measurements were made with the unit standing on the paper containing the text. **Q: Can you switch on magnifier without the light? if not, it would be no good for use with an ipad, etc** A: I put my mum's magnifier on my phone and, because you actually place it directly on whatever you are viewing, it seemed okay but I don't know how shiny your screen is. I did take a photo of the screen to show you but can't seem to put on here. You can see slight strobing when using "live".
