In this book you will find great advice on what to look for in a business. Some people will call WFG a scam some may say it's the best thing that ever happened to them. I say best thing that ever happened to me and this book tells you the good and ugly. I've been in WFG for over 1 year now and what we do is amazing. People may say it's a pyramid scheme, that's poor thinking with validity. Last time I checked corporations are pyramid schemes. Who makes all the money in a corporation? People at the top. This book talks about how people have changed their lives and the lives of many. I think if you're open to new business opportunities without listening to people who failed in life and blame it on a company with over 40 years of business, this book will solidify your decision about WFG. I would be lying if I said it was easy. It requires hard work and a strong belief in the company’s mission to educate and help families secure their future. That is what has helped me push forward despite the many rejections you will encounter. Some people are open to what you have to share and some are not — fact of life. Any business you start, in any industry for that matter, requires hard work. If you want to represent the diverse business platform the company offers, you need to get properly licensed. It requires investment of time and money, just like any business. To get properly licensed — life, health, securities (6,63,65) will run about ~$1500 (assuming you pass the first time you take it). Of course, you do this at your own pace. And, you can even do this while holding a full-time job. I can’t think of a financial institution that will allow you to do this. I have all the licenses and the income I have generated has paid back this initial investment many times over and, I’m still going thru growing-pains in buildin my business. This is not a get-rich-quick type of business. I believe a lot of the naysayers fell for this lie. I say, shame on those who painted this picture for others. But in reality, there are good agents and bad agents, whether it be in the real estate industry, insurance industry, or the likes. I am fortunate to be associated and have met people in the business who are above board on what it takes to make it and are all the more willing to help you build and grow “your” business. It’s about being mission-driven rather than commission- driven. The company preaches value to the client and their family comes first before value to your bank account. In my opinion, people who have joined and quit the business failed to realize that “ you are your own boss”. It is ‘your business”. Sure , you will experience not so effective business practices and some that are really good. You decide what you believe will be effective to grow your business. If you start a restaurant business or even an insurance agency business and it fails, who do you blame? The same with this business. It comes down to accountability and ownership. You just need to be coach able and have the desire to help others. Starting this business is more about WILL than it is about SKILL. You cannot share and talk about what the company offers, in terms of education and services, if you yourself have not taken time to learn and/or implement it to improve your financial security. To bring change to others lives, you need to start with yours. Steve was not paid by World Financial Group to write this book and in fact was prepared to write about any dirt he might find... as any real author would.He conducted over 100 interviews, with employees and DISGRUNTLED employees. In all capacities, from home office to field leaders. Tied in with 14 years of working for the company and teams teaching mental toughness. This made him an ideal author to tell about all the insider information one might want to know before working with the company.I believe his portrayal of the company was accurate and fair. He talks in great detail about the strengths and weaknesses of the company from an objective stance. His positive review of the company got him in some hot water from some of World Financial Groups competitors (for whom he also works) and cost him some contracts. An author willing to tell the truth regardless of his financail gain or loss is pretty special.
