Generally these kind of electronics tend to have "long life battery". I use it for a year now, still I havent changed it. I have used it daily for over a month including most 2nd functions, memory storage, time value of money functionality, and cash flow functionality and have had no hardware or software problems at all. The factor calculator retail box inside the shipping container was a bit faded on the outside but I always bin calculator retail packaging from the outset so not an issue at all.
