Review: WOW! This is the best thing since sliced bread! Seriously. I really like the fact I can make one cup or four cups. Sometimes after work I really like a good cup of coffee and this is the ticket! Very easy to use and maintain. For me, it is worth every penny. I really am hoping this machine lasts me for many years to come. I use a Technivorm KM5 grinder set on 6, and for me this is the perfect grind and flavor. One thing I have had to get through my thick skull is that pouring the last drop out of the thermal pot one MUST put a finger on the top. I have managed to have that top fall off in my cup now 4 or 5 times because I insist on tipping that thing as much as possible to get the last drop out. That is on me not the design. I am very pleased all the way around. A very quality made machine. You can feel it when you set it up. Plastic pieces and all - I recommend the BALMUDA without question.
Review: It makes excellent coffee if you use good beans. I got it since I'm a bit of a coffee addict and I don't really mind that it only brews 1 large cup of coffee at a time.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What's difference between model 60A (from Japan) vs 60H (US version)?**
A: I don’t have an answer for you, I wasn’t aware there was a different version. It makes an incredible cup of coffee though. I’ve even used Folgers beans instead of my fancy ones. Incredible cup every time.

**Q: How many ounces is it for small, medium, and large?**
A: Small makes 4 ounces. Medium makes 8 ounces. Large makes 12 ounces. Best tasting brewed coffee. Drink and enjoy.

**Q: Does the carafe have a specific function in the brewing?  In other words, could I put a suitable mug / jar under it and it would catch the coffee?**
A: The lid of the carafe opens the valve on the bottom of the filter. So without the carafe in place the coffee won’t flow from the filter. I’d imagine one could come up with a workaround to keep the filter valve open.
But the carafe is actually very satisfying to use, even though it’s one more thing to clean.

**Q: Is this made in Japan ?**
A: If I remember correctly, it should be made in China, but designed in Japan.

Compact but flavorful. I am impatient and speed through manual hand pouring. This does all the work for me and it makes the coffee tastes so much better. I am a Black Dark Roast coffee drinker. This would work for any coffee connoisseur. If you are thinking about it, just get it. No regrets. You will look forward to your mornings! This is a very simple yet elegant solution to automated coffee drip. Simple minimalist. I had previously used the manual Chemex Drip but I developed carpal tunnel syndrome and looked for an automatic drip coffee machine. I was deciding between Chemex Ottomatic vs Balmuda. I went with Balmuda because I am one person. Also, I had previously broken three Chemex glasses while washing them after use. I am not the most delicate person so I went with this stainless steel carafe that also will keep my coffee warm. This Balmuda at most makes 2 cups Americano or 3 cups Espresso at one go. You can set it to 1-3 European sized cups. It’s perfect for one person. Having said that, it’s easy to make a few more pots since it is automatic. I have included pictures below with an electric kettle and MySoda machine for sizing. I also used my leftover Chemex’s coffee filters hence it looks oversized. It came with a few sample filters. Happy with the purchase and I also own a Balmuda Toaster.
