Review: Simple and Works Great - I just got these today, and after about 30 minutes of use, I'm really impressed. They get surprisingly loud for their size, the highs are clear, and while they're not extremely bass-heavy, they have enough bass to make music and videos sound enjoyable. I tested them on my Lenovo laptop with YouTube videos and a few songs including some bass-heavy tracks and they handled everything well. One of my favorite things is how simple they are to use. They're USB powered, so there's no bulky power adapter to deal with—just plug them in and they're ready to go. I also like their compact size since they don't take up much space on my desk. For the price, they seem like excellent value and are exactly what I was looking for in a pair of everyday computer speakers. If my opinion changes after I've had more time with them, I'll come back and update this review.
Review: For the money these are actually amazing, and for specific use cases they're perfect. - For the insanely low price, these are fantastic desktop speakers. They have limitations, but they also have huge strengths. They are not just throwaway junk speakers for poor people, they actually do a wonderful job at fitting a specific need. I could use my $3000 headphones all the time, but I don't always want to, and for a little study nook I have in med school so I can separate my gaming setup from where I study, they're fantastic. I like that I can just plug them into my laptop or my ipad dock or my switch and they just work, no bluetooth fuss or messing around, no bluetooth latency issues, they are spread apart so i'm not just listening to a single little point of noise from a bluetooth speaker. The reasons you may not want them: 1.) they don't "fill a room". They're shaped specifically to be NEAR field and aimed at you. They sound okay just playing some lofi music or whatever in the room, but they're not what I'd pick for a TV, even a basic hisense TV should have speakers about as good as this. They are not far field. They're an impressively wide near-field. 2.) they don't really have any sub-bass. They're totally adequate in the mid bass and have enough warmth and very little bleed - comparing them to my $80 tribit stormbox 2, the tribit has much more present sub bass punch, but it's also much muddier in the low mids and nowhere near as clear up top. But if you plan on listening to EDM at your desk, these are not your speakers. 3.) you can't aim them directly at you. They're near field. They have to be on a desk that is lower than you and placed so they're aimed at your ears. They're quite wide for near field, so there's good flexibilty left to right position, but their up/down aim is very specific. If you can put them about 8-14 inches wider than your shoulders, they have amazing width, but you can't put them up on a shelf, if they're not aimed at your ears in the vertical direction (they're angled up) then they sound like nothing. 4.) you can afford a little more. I don't know how good the small woofer that the plus version comes with is, but it might be worth it. But something more expensive like a $100-150 set of active swan or edifier bookshelf speakers will get you substantially more. The reasons you might want these 1.) if you can aim them at your ears, they are IMPRESSIVELY clear and tonally correct. very good tamber. LOTS of directionality. I like them quite a lot for listening to lectures, they're very good at making human speech on bad microphones of zoom recordings sound fine. 2.) you don't have the ability to put them against a wall. They will benefit a bit from being against a wall because they have a rear-facing radiator, but they aren't ported backwards so they don't NEED it like some speakers to reflect bass back at you. They're really only picky placement wise about being aimed at your ears. 3.) you just need something small and do not want bluetooth. I sometimes play my switch 2 at my study desk on a portable monitor, and these are the perfect sound pairing for an 18 inch 1080p display. my studying desk is very small and these sit just back at the corners, and work amazingly for games or lofi. Bluetooth just isn't good for gaming, the latency on everything I have that's bluetooth is a full half-second delay. I needed something with a 3.5mm jack, and the aux in seems to be disappearing from the bluetooth speakers too. 4.) you have the ability to wear headphones. If you only have $20, get the moondrop chu 2 type C. They're better than any gaming headset under $300. These go GREAT as a supplement to headphones for the more "Serious" listening. A $20 fiio or kiwiears dongle DAC and some $20 moondrop chu 2 (non type C) or tanchjim bunny or kinera wyvern black IEM's will get you a fantastic hifi audio setup for your computer (never ever use the computer's headphone jack, they're awful) I would also generally recommend if you have a desktop PC and not a laptop to use a cheap $20 usb dongle dac from fiio or kiwiears, even for these. PC motherboards all universally have terribly isolated amplifier circuits and these will sound better from that too Overall, the sound quality is wonderful if lacking in sub bass. They're very directional, very tonally accurate, not muddy, they get loud enough to be "loud" but not damage your hearing. treble is clean and not shouty. Build quality is astounding for the price. They look nice, the wires are plenty long and good quality, the volume knob is a real knob and doesn't just spin endlessly The only things I'd really wish is that maybe they were in a form factor that made them more portable, like smaller and clamp together with magnets around the drivers to protect them so you could put them in a bag. A smaller enclosure for these drivers that did that and maybe used a battery instead of needing USB power would be amazing. I'd also like if the wires were detachable. It'd be cool to be able to incorporate these into a surround sound set. They'd make amazing rear surround drivers.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Little Speakers, But That One Wire Situation… oof
*by M***L on July 22, 2026*

These speakers punch way above their size. For tiny, USB‑powered speakers, the sound is clean, surprisingly full, and perfect for a desk setup where you don’t want bulky gear. They look sleek, stay out of the way, and basically do everything you want small PC speakers to do. The only downside? Both speakers being permanently attached to the same wire is kinda annoying. It limits placement, makes cable management a mini‑puzzle, and just feels like one of those design choices you wish they’d rethink. Still, for the price and performance, they’re solid. 4/5 — awesome little speakers, just wish they weren’t tethered together like middle‑school field trip buddies.
