Each stage is carefully sequenced so children can practise their phonics skills. There are five books in Stage 1 and each text focuses on one short vowel sound. Most of the words are consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC). As a reading intervention teacher, I love the font used in these books - the letters (and words) are nicely spaced which is always helpful for beginning readers. These books are also the perfect size for little hands (15cm x 15cm).
