This way there are almost no wires visible, and you have the cigarette lighter in your car free for something else, like a gps. The hardwire kit makes sure to turn on your dash cam when you start the engine of your car, and if wired correctly, will start parking mode if you turn off the engine, if your dash cam has that feature. If your dash cam doesn't have parking mode, it is still worth using this kit, because you don't have visible wiring hanging on the dash of your car.Packaging and delivery time:The delivery time was only 5 days or so from the UK to NL. The item was well packaged.Contents of the package:The package contains:- plastic bag containing the hardwire kit, manual and piggyback wires with different sizes fuses- converter from micro usb to mini usb- tool for removing rubber seals in your car- 5 clips to fasten the wires if necessary- tool for removing fuses in your fusebox in your car- 4 tie wrapsThe manual is written on both sides of the paper, one with possible connection schemas (with parking mode, or without) and one with how the hardwire kit works.The hardwire kit little black box has four settings to set the proper battery drainage protection. When the engine is off, the cam goes into parking mode, but that could drain the battery. By setting the drainage protection, the box will switch off the cam before the battery is drained.Installation:To get general information, search on youtube for "How To Hardwire A Car Dash Camera with Parking Mode". Have a look at the first result that comes up. It contains information about different types of fuses and their sizes.Search on youtube for "HOW TO HARDWIRE DASH CAM TO FUSE BOX! THINKWARE F770" to get an idea on how to install the hardwire kit.To connect the red and yellow seperately to a fuse, I used a second piggyback cable I had laying around. It is possible to connect red to constant power directly, without a fuse. If you don't have a second piggyback cable, you can order them on aliexpress for example.After installation, the only wiring that is visible is the connections to the dash cam which is very acceptable. The rest is invisible. The battery drainage protection works great, I have used the kit now for several weeks and I haven't had any problems. I'm very happy with the hardwire kit.
