Review: Fast delivery and good product - Great product that arrived quickly from the US to France. Glad I made the transaction before the new taxes !!!
Review: Works like a champ! - I bought this for my 14yo daughter. All of the home lights are X-10 and on a schedule. Now that she is "almost an adult", I changed the 11:00p "lights out" to 1:00a and she can now turn her own bedroom lights off earlier. She also uses it if she gets up at night to turn her bedroom light on and the downstairs light on as she's still afraid of the dark a bit. Works very well just remember that the buttons can only control two devices which are numbered sequentially and on the same house code. Eg: A1 and A2 or B5 and B6. We use house code C and the bedroom is 5 and the downstairs is 4, so the buttons are C4 and C5. Pretty easy to program, but make sure the instructions match the device or you may get frustrated. There was a programming guide update. Read the other reviews for more tips. One last thing, you need to have a wireless RF receiver to use this keychain transmitter. I already had this, but make sure to buy one to go with this remote if you don't already have one. ;)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, but produces unwanted side-effects while being programmed
*by T***E on December 31, 2024*

A (separately purchased) transceiver (TM751, CM15A, etc.) is REQUIRED for use with this RF remote; also, at least one X10 Module (also separately purchased) is needed to actually control the light or appliance. This remote can control two (sequential) House/Unit codes (for instance, P10 and P11) allowing independent control of at least two modules (or two sets of modules all set to the same House/Unit Codes). Only the first House/Unit code can be programmed; the second House/Unit code automatically assumes the next higher Unit code - which somewhat restricts its addressing flexibility). The independent functions provided for each of the two House/Unit codes are: ON, OFF, DIM DOWN, DIM UP. (Dimming functions work only for modules that have dimming capability themselves). The operating range of this RF remote is generally adequate for use within or near a typical house but depends on the usual factors that can inhibit RF transmissions. OPERATION: This remote works well for its intended functions. The only operational annoyance I've noticed is that it's necessary to press the buttons quite firmly to ensure they respond. (This may be a good thing as far as preventing unintended activations (due to something hitting the button) - although the somewhat recessed buttons already provide some protection from things hitting the buttons). I cannot confirm battery life or long-term reliability aspects of this remote. PROGRAMMING: Programming the desired House/Unit codes for this remote to use is simple, although somewhat susceptible to mistakes in counting the Codes: It works by simultaneously pressing the upper ON and OFF buttons for about 3 seconds (to enter "setup mode"). Then, the upper ON button gets pressed a number of times to reach the desired House Code. For instance, to set House Code D, the ON button would be pressed four times (1 press = A, 2 presses = B, 3 presses = C, 4 presses = D). Then, the upper OFF button would be pressed a number of times corresponding to the desired (first) Unit Code. Finally, either the lower ON or lower OFF button would be pressed to "Save" the setting and exit "setup mode" (or it will automatically exit Setup Mode after 30 seconds). The only things I dislike about the programming procedure is that both the House Code AND the Unit Code must be set EACH time - that is, the Unit Code cannot be changed without also re-entering the House Code. Also, the House/Unit Codes are NOT preserved if the battery is removed - in which case, it reverts to the default A1 code. SIDE EFFECTS: The reason that I "demoted" this remote's rating by one Star is that the remote issues ALL ON commands during the programming operation, which turn on any lights controlled by lamp modules on all House Codes up through the House Code being programed. This is less of a problem if your system uses only one single-House Code Transceiver, because only modules on the matching House Code will get turned on... but, if your system transceives more House Code(s) - like having multiple transceivers, or worse, a CM15A controller - then many lamp modules may get turned on throughout the system (and "clean-up" can be tedious). The worst-case scenario would be trying to program the remote for House/Unit Code P15 on a system the uses a CM15A controller and many Lamp Modules set to many House/Unit Codes. This is because the remote will issue an ALL ON command for the associated House Code each time the ON button gets pressed during setup mode. For instance, the process to program House Code P would cause the remote to issue an ALL ON command for a House Code A, B, C, D, ... N, O, P for each successive press of the ON button. Then, programming the Unit Code would cause the remote to issue successive Unit address commands for each press of the OFF button. This would result in many lights being turned on - and possibly other undesirable effects as well, depending on the addresses used for Modules and Macros in your X10 system. In any case, there would be a lot of modules needing to be turned off after the programming operation. The only ways to avoid these side effects would be to either take the remote out of RF range of the transceivers while it is being programmed, or else to unplug all transceivers while the remote is being programmed. Any of these scenarios involves extra work - and possibly undesirable consequences - that would be unnecessary if the remote did not issue commands during its programming mode. So, this unexpected behavior - and its consequences - is highly undesirable and makes little sense. Consequently, I reduced this remote's rating by one Star.
