I fill the pot up 3/4 full with potting soil. Sprinkle seeds to cover potting soil, generous amount, depending on size of pot, cover with 1/4" inch potting soil, water, put in a sunny warm place and watch it grow! I have never found the need to soak seeds. In, approximately, 1-1/2 weeks you will have Lush, green grass. Trim, occasionally. It last a month or more if taken care of. Just water and give sun. **Q: Does this grass last year-round indoors?** A: It germinates quickly and with regular watering and sunlight, grows tall and healthy any time of the year. As far as lasting year round, we grow it as a healthy treat for ourcats to chew on, so, for that reason, not in our household! **Q: What is ideal climate ? Indoor** A: Yes indoor is good. I did as another reviewer suggested doing. I soaked the seeds(about 1/2 bag), drained and let sit for 8 hours and repeated one more time. I planted in organic soil in a kitty box(this is for my kitty so no pesticides), and kept it indoors with no directed sun for 2 days. I spray bottled the soil 2x's a day to keep moist but not soaked. The picture attached is after 2 days inside and 3 days outside(still not in direct sun). Just moved to sunny area for the kitty. I will update review after a couple days in the sun and how my cat liked it. Kitty totally loves his grass.
