The base that comes with the router doesn't fit most bits I would use.** A: The exit hole in the bottom of the base is 1 ½"; the hole in the baseplate is smaller by enough that my largest bits, which are OK at 1 ½", were too large for the baseplate opening. I found a couple of replacement baseplates from third parties that would solve the problem, but I opted to remove the baseplate and attach the base to a simple router table. Sorry that I didn't keep the information about the replacement baseplates but they were not hard to find. Making the simple router table I built is demonstrated in the YouTube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYrevm64sjc&t=537s. He even mounts a Makita trim router. After implementing his fence, I decided the simpler approach for a table fence described in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgA-69nnKFo&t=143s was the approach I would take.
