I would imagine most people prior to buying one of these wonders, why would I ever buy this? Well I did some research and bought this 36" peavy after deciding between the 30" and 36" Hookeroons on the market. If you are 6 feet tall or more get the 36", I am just 6 foot and the length of the handle is perfect. Anything less and you are going to have to bend over which is exactly what this tool helps you avoid. This tool is light, easy to wield (even with my left hand as I am right handed) and saves a ton of time while getting wood out of a pile next to my splitter. I don't have to bend over to get the logs. I don't have to slow down. I can keep my hands away even more from the splitter. Rolling larger logs is surprisingly easy to keep the chainsaw out of the dirt. For the price, it saves me so much time I probably cut my splitter time by about 10-20%. Oh and I almost forgot, as sometimes a tree might get felled in a spot with a lot of Russian Olive, wild raspberry or other picky plants I can just impale a fairly decent sized log and drag it out of the area without tearing up my hands or forearms.
