Review: Great digital tape measure! - Extremely accurate and easy to use!! A bit on the pricier side, but the other ones just don’t measure up to 1/ 32 of an inch. Comes in a little case that you can hook onto your belt. It was really easy to use and compatible with MagicPlan. I would take a measurement and it would adjust my floor plan automatically in MagicPlan. Leica also has a compatible app, but I ended up not using that as I was already using this other floor plan app. Very good quality, it’s built very well and durable. Very easy to read. The menu layout is very simple and straight to the point.
Review: Major Lazeeeeeeeer - It has some big shoes to fill my last leic lazer lasted 10 years, had the d330i, only bad thing with this one is it isnt as easy to set a timer when I put it on a mono pod and measure something I cant reach on foot. but its quick, easy to adjust increments of measure, and I like that you can toggle through the last 5 or 6 measurements which I couldnt do on the old one.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this model measure to 1/16" ? we need that instead of 1/32" (we bought a new d2 only to discover it no longer measures to 1/16! grumble**
A: Yes, it will allow the units to read to the nearest 1/16".

**Q: Can you change the measurement reference point from the back edge to the front?**
A: Yes. One of the control buttons toggles measuring references once the measure function has been activated. Page 2 of the owner's manual locates this button.

**Q: Does this X3 allow measurements to the nearest 1/8"?**
A: I have the X4, which is the same laser.  The X4 has the camera, where the X3 does not.  On my X4, it will measure to 1/8", BUT you have to make sure you purchase the US version.  Also note, that it will display oddly... it will say 2/8" instead of 1/4", or 4/8" instead of 1/2".  It's annoying, but you get used to it.  Hope this helps!

**Q: Does this have a tripod port and timer?**
A: yes to the tripod port.  There is a timer function shown on the quick "cheat sheet' but I have no idea how to use it.
