In tanks, you have to have the kind of bacteria that changes ammonia into nitrate, which is why we use stability if we are deficient of that. I use pristine one month per year for a deep clean. **Q: Is this ok to use with invertebrates? I have freshwater aquarium shrimp.** A: I have a freshwater planted aquarium with shrimp and have used Pristine for several months with no problems. **Q: What is the difference between this and Prime effectivity wise? I currently use Prime and have film and a generally nasty tank.** A: Pristine is a bacteria that helps break down the gunk in the tank. Prime is a chemical that removes chlorine and detoxifies ammonia in tap water. I added pristine to my tank 2 weeks ago and I've noticed that the nitrates have reduced and there is no longer a film on the water surface. **Q: Will this eliminate all the fish poop and food stuck in the gravel bed?** A: For that you can use Peroxide fond at pharmacy. 30mg per litter will break down fish poop and any organic material including algae. Use ORP when using Peroxide and stay below 400mV when adding.
