Designed for countertop use, it includes a tight-sealing lid, built-in strainer, and spigot to collect nutrient-rich compost tea. The kit comes with 1 gallon (2 lbs.) of bokashi bran compost starter, enabling odorless, anaerobic fermentation of all food waste—including meat and dairy—year-round indoors. Perfect for small spaces and eco-conscious professionals, it accelerates composting while minimizing mess and odor. ## Description Easily lower your carbon footprint: unlike other kitchen compost bins, the All Seasons Indoor Composter is more than a container to collect food scraps. Start the composting process immediately using the microbial power of All Seasons Bokashi to ferment your food waste after every meal, before transferring to your outdoor compost bin, garden soil, or curbside pick-up. The All Seasons Bokashi composting system helps you retain more nutrients for your compost, turn would-be food waste into garden gold quicker, and reduce stinky putrefaction, and other side effects of typical composting systems. And this ready-start kit is all you need to get started recycling any kind of organic material -- even small bones, meat, & dairy-- without fussing over the perfect balance of browns and greens. It’s perfect for beginner composters, small space dwellers, and anyone who wants to keep composting through winter (but avoid trudging out to your outdoor bin in freezing temps each night). Our compost bin’s kitchen-friendly design combines two innovative features -- a strainer and a spigot -- that allow you to drain a nutrient-rich compost tea, making accessing a powerful plant fertilizer easy and less messy than making it outdoors. Plus, bokashi composting loses fewer nutrients than traditional composting methods, making your compost and compost tea an even richer source of garden gold. Your new composting set comes with everything you need to kickstart composting in the comfort of your kitchen. 1 black, rectangular, 75% recycled plastic, compost bucket, a 2 lb. bag (1 gallon) of dry bokashi bran compost starter & easy step-by-step directions. This handy countertop compost bin sits right where you need it--by the kitchen sink. Ready to catch all your food scraps. An indoor composting solution fully equipped with a strainer, leak-free spigot, tight-sealing lid & sturdy handle. Makes a great gift for healthy homes, small apartments, green thumbs & garden lovers. ## Features - SCD Probiotics Indoor Composter Starter Kit – Compost right in your kitchen with this ready-to-use kit. We do not have a yard. I was going to give it away or sprinkle it on some common green areas by our apartment.** A: My experience with it so far has been that it turns everything into a nasty, smelly, wet, gloopy mess that you definitely couldn't sprinkle over anything. It needs to be covered up by something when you take it out of the bin to finish the process - i.e: soil or an existing compost bin. **Q: Anyone have a recipe for the mix?** A: Type "How to Make Bokashi" in a youtube search. "Podchef" Neil Foley has a good demonstration. **Q: how much bokashi is included?** A: It included two bags, and we use it very sparingly and I'm still in the first amazing. AMAZING flower growth when used with 1 TBS. Bokashi team to one gallon of water. **Q: Do you need earth worms for this product?** A: No. I tried a worm composter before this and failed. This is much easier & allows you to compost more things than worms. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by T***M on May 26, 2023* ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by A***S on April 23, 2015* ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by S***E on December 24, 2013* --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/70343234-all-seasons-indoor-composter-starter-kit-5-gallon-black-compost](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/70343234-all-seasons-indoor-composter-starter-kit-5-gallon-black-compost) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
