A: Keep shopping. Mine broke (failure of the peg, not the screw or install) on my first stringing. And I tune down two whole steps.

**Q: what metal are these made of?**
A: Because they're painted black I don't know but they're solid and the tuning holds good and there's very little play or looseness in the gears. Great product in my opinion.
