The link material is fine and the chain can be easily cut with wire cutters. It came inside of a plastic bag and the spool itself had shrink wrap around it and the loose end was taped down, so it didn't get all tangled during shipping. The chain is easy to work with and I like the color, it is a nice shiny silver. The size of the links makes it easy to attach jump rings. This was exactly what I was looking for to make charm necklaces. It creates a nice, delicate finished necklace.
