Except I will leave the laces and use the buckle at the top for the ankle to get it tight. For my ice skates. Searching around I am unaware of any conversion kits but the market really needs it! **Q: How wide are the straps?** A: The straps are 3/4 inch wide and approx 8 1/2 long. I used these on my K2s. They are great. You may have to do some surgery on your skates if you have rivets. I had to drill out the rivets. **Q: Anyone know if these will work on a pair of older K2 skates?** A: Don't know specifically but with a little modification they will work. I had to drill out the old rivets and trim down the width of the new straps but in the end, they worked fine. It is the only way to save an old pair of skates. **Q: I somehow got 2 packs of these totaling 4 straps but only 2 are needed for 1 pair of skates right?** A: Look at your skates. I have one pair that has 6 straps, but only 2 broke and needed replacement. Strap works with old buckle, no need to change it. Strap is extra long, trim necessary.If you aren't comfortable drilling out a couple of rivits, and don't have a stubby flat head screwdriver, this might not be the project for you. I will likely buy more in the future. *by J***R on January 25, 2018* I saved my son's favorite pair of Roller Blades!!! Drilling out the old rivets was easy, as the metal was soft, probably aluminum. I used a 1/4 inch drill bit. The new screw-together rivets worked perfectly. The straps were much longer than needed, so I cut a few inches off with scissors. The straps were also wider than the existing receiver, which I did not want to replace. So, I placed the side of the strap on a grinding wheel to remove about 1/16 inch. So, I did not need the new receivers, only the strap/buckle. All together it was about a fifteen minute job.
