A: Yes, but the charcoal will come off easily, so you'll want to protect the fabric from moisture or rubbing or excessive movement to preserve what you drew on it.

A: They're made of cedar and white charcoal. Cedar is non-toxic and drawing charcoal of any kind is generally non-toxic. There may be other ingredients in these pencils as well, but the package label states that it conforms to ASTM D-4236 and no mention is made of any toxic materials on the package. ASTM International (previously American Society for Testing and Materials) provides industry standards.
