We are going into Babe Ruth and need at least 70 MPH** A: It will simulate 70 mph, but not pitch that fast. You have to move it closer, something like 40-38 feet to simulate that speed. The weight of the balls gives them a lot of movement , which gives the appearance that they are going faster. The curves and sliders are the biggest advantage that this machine can give you. It's harder to hit than the real thing, so makse hanging curves look like they are on a tee. A real pitcher can't throw curves or sliders as good as this machine. **Q: Can you use dimpled balls?** A: I would not. Machine is under powered for weight of dimple balls. The lite flite balls a are a lighter dense nerf material. Not the same density of the standard solid dimple ball. Than being said, the lite flite balls will not break a window.
