I set-up the machine on stacked crates so that the machine is at shoulder height thus replicating a very inexpensive indoor pitching machine. If you buy good balls they will be delivered consistently in the strike zone. The best money I've spent for practicing baseball in the winter. **Q: Can you put baseballs in it** A: No real baseballs, just plastic ones. **Q: Do you have to hit with a whiffle bat or can you use a real/aluminum bat?** A: My son, daughter, and myself have used a child's aluminum T-ball bat. I can swing full speed with jugs poly baseballs and no issues. Jugs Balls are more consistent than the ones it came with. Huge upgrade for small money. Other limited flight styles may work also.
