There is software included to program with usb cable. There is a warning it is illegal to do it yourself in US. I paid a us desler $20 to program. Other significant issues are mounting and routing the gps antenna/cable that is included, and hooking up to my seatalk. I had to buy additional adapter kit because I had older (2011) connectors and I may have needed another cable for my display. I paid someone to install in the end. **Q: Are there any android apps that will work with this product? Which ones?** A: Unclear from your question if you already own this product. If you do not, then you are going to be required to complete the AIS Static Data Programming Log Form before you buy it preprogrammed. I bought it in preparation to do offshore sailing but because I am just bow able to leave, I did not install it until needed.The unit flashes one green light when power is supplied and then nothing. The according to the manual this should not happen. I downloaded the newest software to my PC, plug in the AIS 650 and the PC says it can not communicate with it even with the updates USB Drivers and software update.At this point it is looking like I received a bad unit and because I assumed a new factory product should be fine and waited, it looks like I have lost a significant amount of money for a nonfunctioning unit because I am now in Central America with no way to send it to Raymarine and about to sail to New Zealand.The instructions also say the unit is suppose to be programmed by the dealer selling it with your information.
