I don't know for sure whether Bluetooth/HomeKit/Home Key can be used to unlock when a 9V is used for backup power, but my assumption is that they will work as usual. **Q: What's the battery life?** A: Depends on your usage , I’ve gotten about 6 months of normal usage on my regular assure 2 locks **Q: What features require a homekit hub?** A: Remote unlock through Apple homkit, and notifications from HomeKit. Or you can not set up in Apple homkit at all and do all the same things just in the Yale app -minus Apple homkey.
