A: I use it for canning and pickling. It is too coarse for regular cooking.

**Q: Is morton canning salt pink?**
A: No, it is white. You are thinking curing salt, which is completely different and can't be interchanged.

**Q: This item can like regular salts to use on cooking meals?**
A: Yes. Canning salt in this case is simply salt without a variety of trace minerals that might make pickled/canned goods look cloudy. Just keep in mind how coarse or fine the grain is when you use it. Canning salts are usually very fine grain so they dissolve quickly so it might not be measured (by volume) precisely like table or kosher salt.

No additives. Lots of salt for the price. Depending on what you are using it for, this is what you want if you just need plain old salt, no anti caking agents, etc. Works perfect for my use.
