We purchased this 8×10 area rug back in July to replace a very expensive living room area rug that our 6 mo old puppy ruined. We need an area rug since we have hardwood floors, but didn't want to invest in another expensive rug until we knew she wouldn't ruin it. I thought this would be a good alternative. I had moderate expectations given the price and some of the reviews, but figured if this would last for a year or two it would be worth it.The rug arrived quickly, and was ready to unbox. There was only a slight "new carpet" smell, nothing offensive (I'm very sensitive to all odors, so I was very happy that the rug didn't smell like chemicals!). Even that slight smell dissipated quickly.After getting the new carpet pad laid out (a must for this carpet, as it has no padding or backing, and we didn't want it slipping on our hardwood floors), we unrolled the carpet. It took awhile to relax, but by trimming the carpet pad a full inch inside each edge (the width of the rug's border) the carpet was laying nicely within an hour or two. We also walked around the edges and rolled on the carpet to help smooth it out.The colors vary throughout the carpet, but are true to the pictures that I saw when buying it. One end is a bit more muted while the other is more vibrant. This definitely gave us options in deciding how bright/muted we wanted it to look in our room since we were covering a chunk of it with our couches.We've now had the carpet for 7 months and I have been very impressed! Even though it has gotten a bit matted down in the high traffic areas, it doesn't detract from the look of the rug. It has been extremely stain resistant (everything from soda to dirt to blood have come out easily!), even if some stains aren't caught immediately. Spilled liquids tend to sit on top of the carpet rather than immediately soaking into and through the carpet, giving you those critical extra moments to soak them up (though it may be due in part to the carpet pad). Due to the huge variety of colors in the rug it hides dirt well. (Note: we kept the "vibrant" end showing, but even in the palest areas stain removal is easy.) Perhaps most importantly, our short haired, jet black dog sheds constantly, but this rug even hides her hair well!Compared to our $2500+ chocolate brown sisal rug that we replaced, this is obviously much softer and warmer on our feet, plus the variety of colors brightens up the whole room. While I don't expect this to last the 15+ years our previous rug did, I'm very impressed with how well this rug is doing and expect that we could easily get a few years out of it before replacement. So for the money, it's been a great choice!Overall, I would recommend this rug! It's great if you're looking for an inexpensive area rug for a relatively high traffic area, knowing you'll want to switch it out in a few years, or if you are on a budget and are looking for something fun and stylish to brighten up your room!You DEFINITELY need a carpet pad for this, given that the rug has no backing or padding. We purchased a non-slip 1/4" thick, felt and latex pad for hardwood floors, which works beautifully given the pile of this rug.Also, when reading reviews, note what size rug the reviewer purchased. It seems that the color variations, longevity/quality, odor, etc., vary based on the size of the rug.But again, overall, the 8×10 area rug is beautiful, true to the pictures, surprisingly durable, easy to clean, and a fantastic value! I would recommend this rug and would definitely purchase this same rug again if I needed another one!

Exactly what I wanted for the space.

I purchased the 6 ft runner - it has only 1 medallion in the center and I purchased the 12 ft runner - it has 3 medallions. These rugs are an exceptional value for the price. The colors look like the photos - they're really pretty. They're not thick but they're not too thin either.

This is a beautiful rug, vibrant colors, looks great in my room, it has lavender, pink, gray, beige, brown, cream, teal/blue and orange.

I cannot rate stain resistance or cleaning as I just got it. But I suspect my roommate will have me trying out the resistance and ease of cleaning before too long. But until then...I am so beyond pleased with this purchase. The colors are expressive without being overwhelming. It laid flat from the get go. Wasn't too heavy for one person to manipulate.I'm not thinking I'll need a pad, but that could change later.I like that there is a matching runner if I choose to carry the pattern into another area.It was wrapped nicely in thick protective plastic, but wasn't a bear to unwrap.I would purchase from seller again with confidence.

We own about 6 safavieh rugs and this one is just as great. Wonderful colors, soft, easy to clean and so affordable. You really get a quality product for much less than most larger area rugs.
