It’s bright enough to perform most nightly tasks with ease, and thanks to the easy brightness adjustment slider on the side, it can also be dimmed low enough to be kept on all night long without interfering with melatonin production or sleep quality (both conscious and imperceptible). The ambient light sensor allows for effortless transition from day to night (though my only complaint is that the sensor is not highly sensitive, so if you place it in a room without loads of ambient light, it may stay on all day; if this bothers you, it’s an easy fix to turn the slider all the way down so the light turns off, then turn it back up at night when you need it). This red light is just about everything the melatonin-conscious consumer could ever want in a red night light. Beautiful, stylish, elegant, and truly red. For years I settled for ugly red night light plug-ins, because that’s what was available and I was just happy to protect my circadian rhythm at any cost. But with these you can have your cake and eat it too, as they say. It’s bright enough to perform most nightly tasks with ease, and thanks to the easy brightness adjustment slider on the side, it can also be dimmed low enough to be kept on all night long without interfering with melatonin production or sleep quality (both conscious and imperceptible). The ambient light sensor allows for effortless transition from day to night (though my only complaint is that the sensor is not highly sensitive, so if you place it in a room without loads of ambient light, it may stay on all day; if this bothers you, it’s an easy fix to turn the slider all the way down so the light turns off, then turn it back up at night when you need it). I like the brightness can be adjusted. The sensor that detects light and auto shuts off isn't very sensitive. It has to be pretty bright to turn off. I like it comes in different colors. The red definitely saves my night vision.
