The outside of the kettle is warm to touch but definitely not hot enough to burn anyone. I hate “kitchen gadgets” because they are big and usually bulky to store- the base of this kettle is super slim and easy to store. The only downfall (if it is a downfall) is that the cord isn’t very long! It takes 7 minutes to reach a complete boil when full to the line. The inside is completely 100% stainless steel. There is zero plastic inside at all! The lid has a nice safety feature and won’t allow you to open the top when hot and full. You have to pour the contents out first via the spout. It’s insulated so the exterior never feels hot to the touch. I have a child in the house so I appreciate all the safety features. Mine did arrive with a small rust smear near the top of the interior. I have still used it 3-10 times a day regardless and the spot hasn’t grown larger. I was torn between this pot and another but the warranty on this was far better. I hope it lasts!
