It it a great tool but would be helpful if it could be extended to a longer tool. **Q: How well does it work on carpet?** A: Works about the same on both hard floors and carpet. I believe it has more stability on carpet. The base could be a little wider. **Q: How high does the easy riser stand** A: I’d say it’s about 15” high . I was afraid that wouldn’t be enough to heft me to my feet but it does help me get up and the wide base is very stable on the uneven ground of my garden and so helps me a lot with my balance.. **Q: Will it work to help get out of low sports car?** A: It is probably too short to be something you could lean on to get out of a car of any seat height. It works for me, if I'm on the floor and I need assistance to get up off the floor. Some folks have also used it to get up and out of a bath tub. I'd take a measuring stick and check the distance from the ground to where your hand would go (easily and naturally) to require support as you ease out of a car. I think a walker placed beside a car would be far more stable and supportive. Even a good set of those crutches that go around your elbow (not under your arm). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I never knew I needed this ....until I did. *by J***D on February 8, 2019* I have been suffering from sciatica and I am also going through chemo. I am in pain and weak. Not being able to get up, even if just on one knee, brought me to tears. I ordered two of these. Best purchase ever. I live alone so I put one in the kitchen and the other one in the hallway between the bedrooms and bathroom. If I fall down, I am able to crawl to one of these devises and pull myself up quite easily. It is very sturdy and stable even on carpeting. I use it to help me get out of the tub and I take one with me when traveling. I could not recommend this product more highly. I’m ordering one more to keep in the car when traveling and I’m ordering one for my neighbors. Money well spent. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bad Knees? Big Help in Small spaces *by C***E on February 17, 2019* This has kept me independent and off the floor and made it easy to get up from a sitting position or place in a tiny bathroom toilet closet. I have a few of them all over my house. I have very bad knees 1 weak ankle and a bad back...so no telling when or what part of my body will not be strong enough to help me move around get up sit down pick up something. Great help with balance until you can get a stiff knee or leg balanced. This helps where a cane is too long to do so. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Useful but expensive product *by C***S on October 26, 2018* I am happy with this device. It helps me to stand up from kneeling or squatting position. It is very strong and solidly built. But it comes in two pieces and is difficult to assemble. When you push the top part with the handle onto the bottom part it seems almost impossible to get it together. Also you are supposed to align the holes on the top and bottom parts so you can screw it together. I was unable to do more than join the top and bottom. Since the fit was so tight I was unable to align them for the screws. But since it was joined together so tightly, I'm not worried about it coming apart. This device really helps me to stand up from kneeling or squatting position, but you have to remember to bring it with you. Also I find it's important to always put it back in one place so I can easily find it.
