Our pipe thread sealant is a soft-set, slow drying compound which seals, lubricates, and protects threaded pipe and fittings. Rectorseal No.5 pipe dope thread sealant lubricates and protects pipe threads. Lead free and contains no metal. Permits easy break out with no damage to threads. For pipe made of galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, polyethylene, reinforced fiberglass, and PVC. DO NOT USE ON ABS OR CPVC. For natural gas and water lines up to 2" and pressure up to 100 psi, the piping system may be placed into immediate service; other services are recommended 24 hours after application. It can be pressurized immediately for piping up through 2-Inch and 100 psi(for natural gas, air and water only) and is ideal for application with a wide variety of fluids and gases, including potable water applications.

**Q: Is this recommended for gas fittings on my Blackstone Griddle?**
A: I would use this on propane gas connections

**Q: What’s the difference between application temp and performance temp? I’d need to use this for locking bolts that get up to 210 Fahrenheit.**
A: Yes that would be appropriate. It seals items that will get into the higher range of temps

**Q: when reapplying the same sealant, is it necessary to first clean off the sealant from last time?**
A: I would clean off the sealant before applying new just because the old sealant may have become contaminated.  If it has some grit in it, it could affect the seal.  Maybe overkill, but I don't like to second guess seals on propane lines.

**Q: With the sealant work for pool fittings that need to be removed and put back on your after year?**
A: No. :(
