Personally, it’s a toss-up between this and the Cherry. The Cherry only wins if you value a card reader that could double as a murder weapon. The HID, on the other hand, is lightweight, nicely built, and comes with a clever little base that keeps it steady without gluing it to your desk. Want it horizontal like an ATM? Tough luck, you’ll need to buy another base. Setup is idiot-proof and it plays nicely with all the big tacho software (yes, Tachomaster friend, it'll work just fine). For twenty quid, the value’s cracking. You really can’t go wrong, UNLESS you’re the sort of boss who underpays and overworks your drivers.
