A: That is where the "stretch" is - at the waist. I really like these, have a couple of pairs. They are durable.

Very nice to wear. Bending and twisting are no problem as they stretch a little.On the down side, they fade quickly and they're a tad inconsistent. I went for 29" instead of the usual 30" in one colour and they're stillbig, but in another colour they're a big small .
