This next-generation ballast system features an innovative mechanical interference mechanism that activates during insertion, pushing the holding prongs into position and locking them securely. Once locked, these prongs prevent the weight pocket from accidentally detaching, providing peace of mind that the ballast will remain secure. When it’s time to remove the pocket, the system goes beyond simply releasing the interference; it also retracts the prongs inward via a set of sliding surfaces, allowing the male and female buckles to disengage smoothly and without resistance. It includes a large handle and an insertion tunnel on the BCD jacket that guide the ballast pocket directly into place, ensuring the male buckle aligns perfectly with the female counterpart.
