Review: Worked great! I am happy to have saved my oil pan. - A shop had drained the oil when they did a service repair to my car. Next time I did the oil change myself, I discovered that the threads were pretty damaged and in fact came out when I removed the drain plug. The shop had put a heli coil on the drain plug. So anyways when I put the drain plug back in, it didn't have enough oil pan threads anymore to grab onto and fully tighten. This kit saved the oil pan. I was nervous about cutting new threads 1mm larger but I went for it and things turned out great. Several reviews say that folks have had leaks from the drain plug when all was done. Thankfully this was not my case. The drain plug went in nicely, cinched tight, and it's all dry around the drain after filling and driving the vehicle. This kit was well worth it in my case.

**Q: Would I need to drill out the oil pan hole before tapping with this kit? I have a stripped M14x1.5 oil plug hole.**
A: No,you don't do that. Just directly use the kit.

**Q: If the threads are stripped out on the M14 x 1.50 sized oil drain hole in aluminum pan, would the M15 work perhaps without retapping?**
A: Yes,due to the size of M15 big than M14,you can direct use it without retapping.

A: The inside is a hair bigger than 15 mm threads 
Will slide over plug , don’t have to screw down the threads

Tap worked great and let me expand my 12mm oil plug to a m13 x 1.5 thread. Problem is the new oil plugs only have a very short grip length and are really just a bolt, no flared head for proper sealing. now i have to find a m13 oil plug which is not really a standard size.
