I purchased a tape measure once that was actually light gray when I got it.** A: It is white. Definitely not grey. The visibility is very good with the white background for me personally. Liked it so much that when I needed to replace my tape for the table saw I used their fastcap tape for that as well. **Q: Do you have this tape in a flat back?** A: Yes, the flat back is nice for layouts where the tape stays out. Be aware that if it is extended a ways (4' maybe) and you rewind it quickly, because it is flat it has a tendency to whip and hit your hand (it hurts).
