**Q: What is diameter or thickness ?**
A: The wire about 1/8 and with the coating about 3/16. About.

**Q: Is it a solid core wire coated with plastic?**
A: Yes..and much more durable and strong that regular department store stuff....it's the only kind I'll use now because it's the best..

**Q: How well do you think this clothesline wire would hold up to an ocean - salty air environment?**
A: I was surprised at how heavy the plastic coating and the wire was.  I used to live within blocks of the beach and the clothesline wire I used wasn't nearly as heavy duty as this so I don't think you could do any better than this product.

**Q: Will this work for a above ground pool cover and winch**
A: its a good sturdy coated cable, not sjure how a pool winch works but seems like it could work if it fits, holds wet blankets and what not on the clothes line!

I prefer this to cable, it has very very little give when adding tension and lasts long. I've had it up on my clothes line for over 2 years without signs of deterioration. Highly recommend for exterior use under tension
