I purchased 4 so far and I intend to buy more in the future. If you're looking into this product I'll save you a lot of time and research you already know that you're looking to achieve the Emerson effect I promise you this is the cheapest and least cumbersome way to achieve your desired results. This product is brought to you by 2 very trustworthy YouTubers who are known for their thorough research as well as their high-quality products along with great pricing. I have followed both of these YouTubers for several years and I assure you not only are they trustworthy but they do their research and the products they provide are high quality at fair and usually unbeatable prices for similar products.

    Excellent supplemental light

*by C***A on Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2019*

I currently am running 3x 200w canagrow COB lights (they are okay, but way overpriced) and a 250w DIY rapid LED light in a 5 x 5 tent. Admittedly the tent is not full right now because I have some big fans, an AC and a humidifier in the tent.Anyway, in addition to my primary lights (which I recommend just going straight with a 5x5 rapidled kit) I also have 2 far red initiator pucks and 1 Emerson board and 1 Exotic Supplements board.I’d like to add 1 more exotic board, 1 more Emerson board, and 2 more far red initiator pucks. I think that would give me complete coverage of my 5x5 area.Despite what some people post, you only need to run these lights at night. There is no benefit of running them before your primary lights turn on, despite the fact that it might imitate sunrise a little bit.For a 12/12 light schedule, this is how I run my lights:07:45 primary lights come on07:45 Emerson board / exotic board come on07:45 far red initiator puck goes on19:45 primary lights off19:45 Emerson board / exotic board off20:00 far red initiator pucks go offThe reason you don’t need to run them to “wake your plants up” is because your plants will wake up just fine when your primary lights come on and they start photosynthesizing. The hard part is putting them to sleep, not waking them up. On average, without the far red puck, it can take up to two hours for them to fall asleep! With the far red puck, they fall asleep right away! Basically it has to do with how the phytochromes work and how it's helpful to speed the sleep process up, but theres no evidence it speeds the waking process up -- as soon as the light hits your plants they photosynthesize and the phytochrome red enters its active stateSure, you can put them on in the morning to mimic a sunrise and slowly wake your plants up, but if you just let your lights come on full blast your plants will wake up just fine, and be praying as expected! How many pucks do you need? Depends on the size of your area. For a 5x5 I would say you want 4-6 pucks. You could have them in 3 rows of two, or you could have one in the center and 4 around it on the sides. The more intense far red you have, the faster they will fall asleep. As far as I can tell, all the “far red” lights on amazon are 660nm whereas this light is farther in the red spectrum. I think it’s 680 or 690, and there is a noticeable difference. The other far red lights are also too bright, you need a balanced spectrum. Keep about 18” above your plants. I have my far red pucks hanging about 8 inches below my lights.

Perfect for a 2'x2'. Really strong IR led.

*by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2023*

It attend two distinct goals: 1- Emerson effect for additive photosynthesis (keep it on for The enterelly "day" period) and 2 - put The plants to sleep, I leave it ON for 15 min after The main lights go off, and could shorten The dark cycle to 10 hours with great success. It pulls 9w from the wall and add enough IR light to a typical 250w LED pannel.
